Tactical UID Label Zero Reflection Design, Easy Readability
Tactical UID Label Delivers Zero Reflection Design With Easy Readability
Low Contrast design UID labels available with zero reflection design for tactical use on DoD property.
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) October 20, 2009 -- The Camcode Division of Horizons Incorporated has introduced a new Tactical UID Label with a zero reflection/detection design that is suitable for labeling sensitive tactical items and complies with DoD requirements for unique item identification (UID).
"Bar code labels traditionally require a high-contrast design so they may be easily read by bar code scanning equipment," said Randy Uveges, Camcode's UID Product Manager. "A high-contrast label is at odds with the objectives of vehicles and weapons systems designed for low visibility in tactical environments. Our new Tactical UID Labels are low-contrast and blend in with the marked item yet read as easily as a high-contrast tag."
That depth of experience has enabled us to help military contractors attain hassle-free compliance with MIL-STD-130, which requires them to affix UID labels to all DoD equipment that is valued over $5,000, serially managed or mission-critical. Available in desert tan or army green, this Tactical UID Label is constructed of Camcode's Metalphoto® anodized aluminum, which can withstand exposure to chemicals, abrasion, solvents and even the harshest outdoor conditions like extreme cold, heat and UV exposure. Three attachment options - high-performance 3M application adhesives, CARC adhesive or holes for mechanical fastening - ensure the label will stay intact under even the most demanding conditions.
"Our history of supplying labels to military markets dates back 55 years, to when our dataplates were first used on U.S. Navy vessels," said Uveges. "That depth of experience has enabled us to help military contractors attain hassle-free compliance with MIL-STD-130, which requires them to affix UID labels to all DoD equipment that is valued over $5,000, serially managed or mission-critical."
Founded in 1979, Camcode is a recognized worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of durable pre-print bar code labels for asset tracking and unique identification (UID) applications. Camcode's asset tags improve the efficiency of asset tracking systems by eliminating errors caused during manual data collection and increasing data acquisition speed. Camcode's Metalphoto® anodized aluminum bar code labels, premium plastic label constructions, and proprietary coating technologies satisfy the most demanding applications.
